Back to Troy

That's my boy. Well, the oldest one anyway. Today he and I moved his stuff back to Troy University for his Junior year. My first born is a Junior in college --- excuse me for a moment, I have a wall that needs banging by my head. I jest of course, but it is a strange concept.
This picture of us was taken on our back deck just before we loaded up in our cars (he has too much stuff for one car now, so he drove his and I followed in the Tribute) and headed out to make the two hour drive this morning. His momma had to work so she missed out on settling him in but I'm sure she'll soon figure out an excuse to go see him in his new digs.
In reality they aren't new to him. He is back in the dorm building where he spent his Freshman year. Only this time he's in the other wing and is a Resident Assistant. A good move on his part I think. It will begin the process of teaching him real life leadership skills, and the extra income won't hurt his pocket any.
I'm very proud of this young man. When I look at that picture I see the man he will be in ten or twenty more years. I pray he will continue on the path he currently follows. May he continue to grow into a man that honors God, find that mate that God has specifically created for him (if marriage is in God's plan) and land on a carreer path that is both fulfilling and of value.
Please bear with me as I say again, he makes his father proud.

That picture couldn't hide your pride if you tried. Psalm 127:3 says " Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him." I am equally blessed so I know the pride you refer to.

What a beautiful testimonial to your having raised your son to be a man of whom you can be proud. To his credit he's grown into someone who is precious to you beyond the genes you share, but don't discount that you're responsible in large part to his being such a fine young man. Good job!

Yep, that's definitley a picture of a proud dad adn his son (who seems just as proud of his dad!).

I love that you have such a good relationship with your sons. It's a testimonial to you all as a family. Which is neat :)

My sons are heading back to school this week. Life is certainly different when they aren't around!

You both look proud of each other. And why not.

I only wish that in the future that Monet and I have the same strong bond that you obviously have with your boys.

I've had enough of the debate. . .I'm putting on the Troy/Florida Atlantic game and routing for the Trojans.
